What is Azure DevOps?
Azure DevOps is a set of software development tools, services, and features provided by Microsoft that enable teams to plan, develop, deploy, and maintain projects more efficiently.
It is a cloud-based platform that provides version control, agile planning, continuous integration and deployment, and other tools that help developers, designers, and IT to collaborate, track work, and deliver software much faster.
Azure DevOps services offer a range of tools, including:
- Azure Boards: work tracking system that helps teams plan, track, and discuss work throughout the development process.
- Azure Repos: version control system that allows teams to track and manage code changes,
- Azure Pipelines: continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) platform that helps teams automate application development, testing, and deployment processes,
- Azure Test Plans: testing tool that helps teams plan, track, and manage their tests.
Azure DevOps is designed to support the entire development lifecycle, from idea to deployment. It can be used to develop a wide range of applications, including web, mobile, and cloud-based apps.
However, Azure DevOps is particularly well-suited for development of cloud-based applications and cloud computing on the Microsoft Azure platform, but can also be used to develop applications for other platforms.
Azure DevOps also integrates with a wide range of tools and services, making it easier for teams to work together and accelerate software delivery process.
